Class Sizes
Class sizes are defined based on providing the optimal learning environment for the students. Factors in consideration include: ratio of students to instructor, facility size, equipment availability and overall atmosphere in the classroom. If a customer has requirements to exceed the recommended class size, the aforementioned factors will be reviewed with the customer to assess risk to the comprehension and experience of the students. Additional trainers can be added to a classroom to keep the student/teacher ratio in line, at an additional charge for fees and travel.
Class Times
Unless otherwise stated, classes will begin at 9:00 a.m. (local time) and end at 6:00 p.m. (local time). There will be a one-hour break for lunch at approximately 1:00 p.m., but the exact time will be determined by the class instructor. Short breaks will be given by the instructor as well to allow for drinks, restroom visits, etc.
Class Days
Unless otherwise stated, all classes will be scheduled for normal Monday – Friday non-holiday weekdays.
Class Surcharges
Any request for weekend training or an abnormal (split-shift or evenings) training schedule must be discussed with an Avid Training Services Coordinator (1-800-867-2843) and approved by the Director of Training. If weekend training is approved a surcharge of $1,000 per day will be added to the price of the class. If an abnormal shift is approved a surcharge of $500 per day will be added to the price of each class.
Testing and Certification Policy Statement Regarding Accommodations for Disabilities
It is the policy of Avid's Training Services and its authorized testing centers and agents to provide reasonable accommodation to disabled applicants seeking Avid operational and/or technical certification. When appropriate and feasible without undue burden or fundamentally altering the nature of the skills or knowledge the examination is intended to test, Avid will use its best efforts to make available appropriately modified forms of examinations and/or alter administration procedures for participants with disabling conditions. Such disabling conditions may include, but are not limited to, hearing impairments, mobility impairments, or dyslexia. In many instances, a requested accommodation will require advance planning in order to be feasible. Therefore, a request for accommodation should be submitted together with the course registration form. The applicant should also submit medical documentation of a disability, which includes a sufficient explanation of the medical necessity for the accommodation being requested. Disabled applicants seeking reasonable accommodations may also contact the Avid Training Services for a listing of available alternative testing procedures and guidelines. Avid does not guarantee applicants' successful completion of any certification program.
