IN 210 iNEWS Database Design Workshop

Overview:

This course covers the iNEWS client in detail, with emphasis on establishing the appropriate workflow for your Avid Newsroom solution. We will cover the use of the iNEWS system, database cycle, and will address an overview of procedures, operation and policy resulting in the use and design of your iNEWS environment.

Audience:

The primary attendees will be key newsroom Operation Managers, Executive Producers, and control room staff who will lead other staff in adapting to the new environment. This course is also appropriate for a representative of the IT department, who will assist in the implementation of the more technical aspects of the database design process.

  • Creating and assigning forms
  • Standardizing print styles in the control room and in the studio
  • Understanding archiving options
  • Creating CG graphics using the title tool
  • Understanding show production, on-air components and troubleshooting
  • Creating new Newscast production rundowns and designing user procedures
  • Comprehension of the database processes with an emphasis on troubleshooting
  • Designing procedural policy and establishing good practices
    • Prerequisites:

      Experience operating the iNEWS client is useful, but not necessary. A full understanding of newsroom and any other production processes, including the control room during on-air transmission. Experience as a user of the Windows operating system. Written and spoken command of the English language
