WG 112 Avid Networking
Overview:
This is an introduction to networking concepts used in Avid workgroup and storage environments. Students will gain a solid foundation on networking theory and gain hands on experience implementing and troubleshooting networks using the currently Avid-qualified switches.
Audience:
System administrators, front-line maintenance personnel, engineers, facility or freelance technicians responsible for large workgroup environments in a broadcast facility.

- Elements of Network Design
- Serial Connectivity and Switch Commands
- Configuring VLANs
- Configuring Dedicated and Virtual Router Interfaces and Static Routes
- Calculating Subnet Masks and IP Ranges
- Client Configuration Guidelines
- Network Troubleshooting
Prerequisites:
Basic experience of Microsoft Windows systems and Avid workgroup topologies. If following the Interplay ACSR path, students should have completed their ISIS/Unity ACSR, and the Interplay WG213 course. (Those already holding a Microsoft, Cisco or other network certification may opt to test out of having to complete this course as part of their Interplay ACSR certification).
