This course introduces key concepts, technology, and vocabulary specific to work in the television production environment, whether in broadcast or in post. Students also learn about the overall workflow of video production.
AV112 Introduction to Avid Marquee
Introduction to the advanced title creation and image animation capabilities of Avid Marquee. Students learn the fundamentals of compositing and animation techniques as well as working with the Marquee timeline and commands.
AV130 Input and Output Essentials

AV210 Creating Graphics and Mattes for Avid Editing Systems
Designed for intermediate editors on either Avid Media Composer or Avid Xpress Pro, this course demonstrates how to prepare still and moving graphics for import into Avid editing systems using both SD and HD formats. Lessons are divided between demonstration and hands-on-practice.
CS100 Setting up Avid Mojo-based Systems
Students explore the hardware and software components of Avid Mojo-based editing systems, their assembly, and installation.
CS101 Setting up Avid Adrenaline-based Systems
Students view demonstrations of the hardware and software components of Avid Adrenaline-based editing systems, including assembly and installation.
CS200 Troubleshooting Avid Editing Systems
Avid editors or system support personnel using the Macintosh or Windows platform learn basic technical support concepts.
DS101 Avid DS Editing and Basic Effects
This course introduces students to the Avid DS workflow processes. Students learn Avid DS editing, audio, and media management techniques as well as basic effects and animation.
IN101 iNEWS Basics
Students learn the basic skills they need to login, navigate, and browse the system for assignments, news wires, e-mail, and messaging specific to iNEWS.
IN102 iNEWS Scripting
Students learn to create, compose and edit stories, and how to embed machine control commands within them.
IN103 iNEWS Producing
Producers and directors learn specific skills for constructing shows and rundowns.
IN120 iNEWS System Manager Refresher
Previously trained system managers have the opportunity to review all the basics of iNEWS configuration and database design. This course can also be used as a pre-requisite to the IN 110 iNEWS New System Manager course.
IN201 Editing with iNews Instinct with MediaManager
Students learn logging in and managing media, scripting, editing video, working with audio, and playout using Avid iNEWS Instinct in an Avid MediaManager workgroup environment.

Students learn logging in and managing media, scripting, editing video, working with audio, and playout using Avid iNEWS Instinct in an Avid Interplay workgroup environment.
MC100 Making the Move from Avid Xpress Pro to Media Composer
This course helps students accelerate the move to Media Composer and start editing video programs using both standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) media. The course provides comparisons between the two systems, along with inside tips and techniques to help students master Avid Media Composer quickly.
MC101 Editing with Avid Media Composer
This course introduces students to the concepts of nonlinear editing using all basic features of the Avid Media Composer system for Macintosh and Windows. Session time is divided between demonstration and hands-on practice, with ample time for experimentation with sample material. This course is also appropriate for Avid Symphony users.
MC110 Introduction to Avid Media Composer Effects
Students explore basic effects. Class time is divided between demonstration and hands-on-practice. This course is also appropriate for Avid Symphony users.
MC111 What's New in Media Composer 2.5 for the Macintosh
This course helps students accelerate the move to Media Composer release 2.5 on the Macintosh and start editing video programs with both standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) media. The course provides thorough demonstrations of new features added since release 1.8, along with inside tips and techniques to help master Avid Media Composer quickly.
MC239 Introduction to Color Correction
This course explains how to color correct on Avid Media Composer and Avid Xpress Pro. Lessons are divided between demonstration and hands-on practice.
MS101 Avid MediaStream 8000 Networked Storage Administration
Students learn to manage and administer an Avid MediaStream network storage configuration. The course includes instructor demonstrations, interactive explorations of concepts, testing and tracking of your progress.
MS102 Avid MediaStream 8000si Administration
Students learn to manage and administer an Avid MediaStream 8000si configuration. The course includes instructor demonstrations, interactive explorations of concepts, and testing and tracking of progress.
NC101 Editing with Avid NewsCutter
This course introduces the concepts of nonlinear editing and includes all basic features of the Avid NewsCutter system for Windows. Class time is divided between demonstration and hands-on practice, with ample time for experimentation with sample news material. Students are also trained, where appropriate, with Avid Workgroup components MediaManager, NRCS and AirSpeed. This course is also appropriate for NewsCutter Adrenaline and NewsCutter XP Users.
NC110 Introduction to Avid NewsCutter Effects
Students learn basic Avid effects. Class time is divided between demonstration and hands-on-practice. Appropriate for NewsCutter XP and NewsCutter Adrenaline users.
OG101 Avid Deko Basic Operations
This course emphasizes mastery of building a Deko graphic. This workshop teaches essential skills of creating a graphic and playing it to air.
OG104 What’s New in Avid Deko 4.0
Students learn the new features in version 4 with step-by-step exercises. This course includes eight modules covering four advanced techniques in building motions. Some features in version 4 are only applicable to specific models and options.
OG111 Avid DekoCast Basic Operations
Students learn the basic construction of a DekoCast scene and how to use DekoCast Central for playback to air. DekoCast enables users to add secondary elements of persistent objects, such as crawls, promos, clocks, credits, Cel Animations and moving clips, to the primary feed. The course consists of one day focused on basic Deko knowledge and one day on DekoCast.

UN202 Avid Unity MediaNetwork for System Administrators
Students learn to keep the Avid Unity MediaNetwork system running smoothly through basic administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques.

Students explore Avid workgroup and video applications involved in newsroom workflow-- from ingest, through content creation, to playback. Includes an introduction to Avid editing applications, MediaManager, and Avid-specific networking.
WG101i Digital Production Workflow with Interplay
Students explore Avid workgroup and video applications involved in newsroom workflow-- from ingest, through content creation, to playback. Includes an introduction to Avid editing applications, Avid Interplay applications such as Access and Assist, and Avid-specific networking.

WG201 Avid Interplay for Editors
Students gain essential knowledge about interacting with the Avid Interplay workgroup environment through the editing application.
WG203 Avid MediaManager Workgroup Administration
This course covers day-to-day responsibilities in the workgroup environment, including client-side configuration of editing applications with MediaManager and TransferManager, as well as managing and monitoring transfers, bandwidth, and performance. Students learn about setting up and maintaining the MM database structure, including Projects and Catalogs, and procedures for managing space and deleting media.
WG213 Avid Interplay for System Administrators
This course is intended for administrators responsible for the setup and day-to-day operation of components in an Avid Interplay workgroup environment. Students learn how to administer the Avid Interplay Engine and Avid Archive™ Engine, and how to work with databases in the system. Additional topics include naming conventions, deletion strategies, deletion protection, daily and weekly maintenance, and archiving.
