    Support for 50-megabit XDCAM HD enables customers to increase production speed and quality by working with native media.

    This device automation system works with any MOS-supporting newsroom computer system to control any Avid or third party playout devices for cost-effective, precise control tied to the rundown or managed flexibly with local playlists

Open to real connectivity, where you work natively with other applications

When an international broadcaster wanted to launch the first French-based global news network, they turned to Avid.

  • The challenge was to launch a 24/7 news network in six months with simultaneous distribution to French-language, English-language, and Web channels.
  • Avid designed a workflow that enabled a single team of journalists to produce content for all outlets simultaneously (while allowing for easy expansion to Arabic and Spanish channels); AND integrated an Avid broadcast environment with Omneon playback servers.

Part of being open is working with emerging, innovative providers to solve challenges like accommodating new camera formats.

  • Streamlining file-based ingest for XDCamHD and P2 formats through NLTek with a cost-effective new application that can automatically identify new media, tag it with metadata, and copy it to shared storage. Or “drag-and-drop” for manual transfers.
  • Collaborating with NLTek on an ingest solution to enable an Ikegami workflow.
